Treatment Overview
Dr. Pannozzo has had extensive experience and education in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain, new and old pain, in many areas of the body. The techniques of diagnosis and treatment are based on the physiology of the structure to be treated, i.e., what was the design and what happened to it to produce a symptom of pain. Dr. Pannozzo uses the latest techniques to diagnose "pinched nerves" and muscle diseases.
We have a three phase program from acute pain treatment to a pain-free state, then to Stage II - the rehabilitation phase to normal strength and range of motion, then to the third phase of maintenance of performance in a pain-free state. This is a medical program, not a physical therapy or chiropractic program. All phases are prescribed and monitored by Dr. Pannozzo.

Outcome studies are in place. Patient evaluation of our service is encouraged on each visit. All insurance companies are acceptable to us, along with co-pay fees.

Fibromyalgia
We believe this syndrome is caused by multiple sources of pain and is not muscular in origin although muscle pain can appear. Our results are excellent without use of psychotropic drugs or narcotics or muscle relaxants. (Other names are fibrositis, myofibrositis, myfascial syndrome.)

Lumbar Pain, new and old
We believe all lumbar pain is from failed engineering and architecture for weight bearing. We analyze weight bearing and source of pain, then get a film - results are excellent. No narcotics or psychotropic drugs are used. Exercise is a mainstay. Facetal and annular injections are given with rapid pain relief. Then the patient progresses to the 2nd and 3rd phase if necessary. Chronic pain as a concept is erroneous as all pain has a source and is treatable.

Shoulder Pain
Sholder pain of any age is treated by determining if a tendon or capsule is painful -- results are excellent. Sleep the same day usually. No psychotropic drugs used. Special exercises given.

Knee Pain
Knee pain from all causes including sports and industrial injuries are evaluated in a special way to determine why the architecture and engineering and weight bearing failed -- a minimal film is taken and pain is reduced the first day. As always, we intend to nullify the need for surgery and encourage you to evaluate your recovery by percentage on each visit.

Neck Pain
Neck pain is evaluated on a new basis. The exact cause of pain will be shown to you on clinical exam, then on film. This is a special exam perfected in this office. Neck pain is very debilitating and our results are excellent. Neck pain is treated from any cause.

Industrial or Work Injuries
The industrial program consists of:

A. Preemployment exams to prevent injuries.

B. Diagnosis of work place injuries and their particular treatment to minimize claims on companies and to help workers to return to the same job. Our rate for all injuries rehabilitated to the same job is 91.8%. Lumbar injuries return at 91.5%. No light duty or retraining is necessary. Lumbar, cervical, dorsal, shoulders and knees.

Hip Pain
Hip pain usually is a failure of weight bearing. The cause is analyzed and corrected. Surgery usually is not necessary.

Foot Pain
Foot pain is a failure of weight bearing. No inserts are prescribed. The cause of the pain is treated instead.

Headache
Headache is mostly from cervical causes. TMJ is a small percentage of headache causes. The cause is determined by clinical exam, a film is then taken and treatement to the cause is prescribed. Outcome studies are done on a daily basis. Causes include facetal and annular in origin. There are primary and secondary causes of headache.

Sports Medicine
Pain caused by unique sports -- including runners, weight lifters, and contact sports such as football, but also basketball and soccer.

Face Pain
Includes tic neuralgia, TMJ and other causes of face pain including cervical causes.

Rehabilitation Services
This practice is Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Pannozzo is board certified by the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the American Academy of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. In addition to pain management, MedX services are provided, which are computer based reports of performance of range of motion and strength and are extremely accurate.
The Rehab program is integrated to provide injured and painful individuals a scientific basis for pain and its cure and subsequent increase in strength and range of motion of the spine segments and other musculoskeletal areas. Approved by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation and other carriers. Full reports are generated and interpreted with localized causes of pain.
